A few years ago my friend asked me to photograph the birth of her daughter. I was honored… and nervous. I had no idea how I would react. What if I passed out or something?! Well… I didn’t thank God. I took pictures through tears of awe and amazement. What a beautiful, powerful, natural, raw, vulnerable thing. It was incredible, and I immediately had the itch. I then spent 9 months in Thailand where I was able to take some classes with a birthing team. After returning to the US, having a daughter of my own, and helping that same friend have her third child via home birth, again through tears, I thought, “this is the world I want to be in!” I love supporting mothers. I’d love to offer you resources, listen to the struggles, and be there for support and encouragement from start to finish. This is my passion and I’d love to help you.

Doula Service Packages
I am a DONA trained doula in the process of getting my certification. Learn more about DONA here. I provide services in and around the JOPLIN, MO community. I am willing to travel up to an hour in any direction to assist you.
Standard
Includes one consultation, one in-person visit before birth, text, email, and phone support during entire pregnancy and postpartum journey, assistance during labor, delivery, 1 hour post-partum, and one post-partum visit upon request.

All In
Includes one consultation, two in-person visits before birth, text, email, and phone support during entire pregnancy and postpartum journey, assistance during labor, delivery, 2 hours post-partum, photography upon request and two post-partum visits.

Post-Partum
Includes one six hour stay to take care of baby, do laundry, cook a meal, play with kids, help mom with self-care, or any post-partum needs.

Photography
Includes a maternity shoot, 30 minutes at any point before birth, and 1 hour at any point after birth. You and your partner can decide (come in right at golden hour or wait a week). I cannot guarantee to be there at the time of birth, but if that is desired I will work to be there. 50/hr.

Why do I need a doula?
When I first became a part of the birth world, everyone kept saying, “doula’s are worth their weight in gold.” For mothers and partners alike, having a doula is like having a knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging friend to lean on through IT ALL. From offering advice and encouragement all through the pre and post-partum journey, advocating for your desires during birth, assisting during labor and delivery to help you move things along while feeling comfortable, to taking the pressure off your partner so they can be focused on you…a doula is a weight lifted off your shoulders so you can be completely focused on what’s important. You and your baby.
